Old Lock!

Found this today near the old chimney in my woods, any ideas on what it is ? It has two differetnt buttons on it and some various things inside, one of the pics is all the crap that fell out of it when the rusty cover fell off.

Why didnt i think of that! Thats gotta be what it is....probably was the lock that went on the door to this old cabin.

Its alright, but I havent found anything real old or really cool yet

Its definetly a lock On the cover it says Nor? Lock Co. Anyone know of any lock companies that started with nor?

Well by doing some research and further cleaning it says "Norwalk Lock Co."? Now its only a matter of finding out when the company went out of buisiness and what model this lock is

Norwalk Lock Co. was still in business in the 40s .. last catalog my grandparents have of theirs is 1947 (when their house was built.)

all i can really tell ya, though .. is that it's an old rim lock. (as if you couldn't find that out yourself LOL) Looks similar to, but heavier than, the ones at my grandparents. . so your timespan'd be 1860s to 1940s LOL
