Hello all. Haven't posted in a long time, been out detecting here and there but haven't really found anything that interesting until recently. My name on the board before was Metal Fury but I figured with my move it was time for a new name...haha My family and I just moved 3 weeks ago from New Jersey down to the Tampa Bay area of Florida...Bradenton to be exact. I've been out to the beach a few times and found some clad, some trash and a decent ring (14kt) and two earrings...one marked 14kt the other 925. My Bro. and Father live down here and have detected the beaches alot but never found much...they were surprised I found a ring! It's funny really, the ring was the absolute first hit I got on my first detecting trip here! It's missing a small diamond but still pretty decent...only the 4th gold ring I've found in my 3 years of detecting.
There's an older looking house that's all boarded up about a mile up the road from where I live. The land has a for sale sign on it so I called to try to get permission to hunt it. The guy I talked to is one of 3 people that own the land and he doesn't mind if I detect it BUT he has to ask his partners. He said he'll call me back and let me know if I can detect there so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

SWEET FINDS ..... ;D And wecome back to treasurenet... enjoy the beachs down there :icon_sunny:

Congratulations!! Is that a class ring? any identifying marks? I just love Bradenton. My sister lives there also and I plan to move there in a few years. I'll be down in Mid January for a long weekend and would love someone to hunt with. Will be bringing my new excal down and can't wait to get in the water. I know it will be a little cold but at least I can get in to my ankles!

Yep...... Still got the Metal and Fury right.....Sweet Dig's!!!!.Best of Luck and Merry Christmas

Thanks all! Cntrydncr1, it's a Cancer ring...as in the astrological sign and I see no name or identifying marks at all. It does have the stamp inside the band that we all love to see...14kt! Bradenton is a decent town but the main thing we love about it is the beaches...they are great! I'm looking forward to spring/summer when the water gets nice and warm, I want to get a waterproof detector and hunt out in the water instead of being limited to the beaches. There is quite a bit of "competition" down here though...I saw 3 people on the beach the other day with detectors. In the almost 3 years that I've had my detector and lived in New Jersey, I only saw ONE other person with a detector...
