I found this at an older part of town here in Illinois that dates back 1830's. It was about 8 inches deep. The backmark says "Rich Gold Color", I did a little research and found out these were made in England for the USA, around 1820-1850 although I did not find an exact match for this one. If anyone has more information on this button I would greatly appreciate it. I'll also post his in the "what is it" section also to see if I can get more information. Thanks for reading.
