Old miners gold claim papers.

A friend and I were detecting for nuggets. No nuggets found but my friend came up with a nice find. He dug up at about 8 inches deep and old rusted what looked like a tobacco tin. The top was still attached and we carefully opened. It looked like it was filled with dirt. Three hours later we started to remove the dirt to see paper. Pulled out the folded paper and carefully unfolded it. It was the claim papers to a 20 acre gold claim from the 1930's.

Seriously, I hope there is a way to restore the paper being so old. Looks like something that would be a great framed piece and definitely a great conversation piece. Congrats!

Cool find......you found one and chances are there may be more tins in the general area (hopefully filled with nuggets)

Check to see what happened to that claim, if someone still owns it or if you can get ahold of it.
If someone still owns it I would contact them and see if they would be interested in the paper.
Maybe you could trade the paper for being able to prospect on their claim a bit.

NeoTokyo- the club I belong to owns the claim. Definitely am going back to the area where it was found, might be more goodies.
