So.. after the hundreds of spoons and spoon parts I was finally rewarded with a silver one. This was actually a “bucket lister” for me considering how many junk ones I find constantly.

We had headed up to a group of sites we found during mapping research and it paid off. My buddy found all the coins (as usual) and I got the sterling spoon and this beautiful buckle. It is in pretty amazing condition due to being under the rocks that spilled over the cellar hole wall. Anyone have any idea on age? The marking are just decorations I think, but being in Maine I always get excited to see “stars”.

Other items were a Major General Harrison medal from 1840? A 1827 large cent, a smoked fatty Indian and a 1866 Indian.

Also found what kind of looks like a trigger guard?? And of course the beautiful flat button.

Good day, about 10miles of hiking and perfect weather. Can’t ask for better than that! Thanks for looking and happy hunting!! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1530234537.443035.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1530234560.495014.webp

Awesome finds. Sweet silver spoon! [emoji2][emoji106]

Alittle bit of everything. Congrats on some real interesting finds.

Congratualtions on the "bucket Lister" find! :occasion14:

That buckle is really neat. I hope someone knows more about it. Maybe Maine Militia related

Congrats on your first silver spoon! I know the feeling, hundreds of plated spoons and not a genuine silver one to show. Some other great recoveries there as well. Congrats!

I can’t find any info or pics on a buckle like this online. My guess is mid 1700s based on the other finds in the area.

Now we're metal detecting. Nice buckle.

Um...

That is a BANNER buckle if ever I saw one.

Well frigging done. :)

I am plagued by spoons.. I could be at the beach and spoons will find me there... it’s literally a curse. To dig this silver spoon was almost my greatest achievement to date! Lol

Thanks! This is the first real decent buckle I’ve gotten in a while. The rocks protected it I think.

That buckle is killer

Man that buckle is nice.

Love. love , love the buckle. Its rare to find one intact, and in such amazing condition. I'm guessing mid-1700's but someone here on T-Net should be able to give specific idea. Congratulations!

Thanks! I was guessing that age based on the charts. I just don’t know if the symbols have any other meaning?
