Found this pocket knife at one of our colonial sites. Not sure how old but cool find.

This one I'm not sure what it's made of. Came out the ground this clean at an old mill site where I found my 1760 Hibernia. Rang up on atpro 56. Any ideas?

Looks like a tombac button. They all seem to have that clean silver colored look to them. Nice finds!

Thanks Evolution and Crusader. Any idea on the material? Don't think it's silver.

The material is Tombac (google it)

Gotcha....thought tombac was the way it was made, didn't realize it was material. Thanks

Tombac, ball button, and some flats. Looks like you're on a site that may date from the 1790s to maybe as late as 1850. Could be some good stuff there!

Great finds Darby! Thanks for sharing...

The knife doesn't strike me as being from the same period as the buttons. I'm sure someone here can nail down a time frame on it. Anyways, darn good finds!
