I found this pocket knife at an early 1800s home site. It not very big and has some writing on both sides odlf the handle. On one side i can make out Georay and on the othe side, New York. Can any one date this pocket knife with the given info? I also found an open frame colonial buckle, piece of a balance scale, and a few othe unidentified pieces. Thanks for looking!

No help with the knife but congrats on your finds

Congrats on the nice finds. The piece in your upper right photo with loops at either end looks to be part of a horse bit. HH!

The knife may be an advertisement knife from Geo Kays Bar in New York City. But not positive.

I've only ever found that type of buckle broken. Nice to see it whole!

Nice looking shoe buckle! Those brass handled pocket knives with lettering in a recessed panel like that were popular around the time of the civil war. They are frequently found on civil war camp sites.

Nice variety of finds and cool buckle! :icon_thumleft: It's a shame that the blades on pocket knives always rust like that.
