Hi all Found this Old saint medallion this morning in Germany. Any idea on how old or which saint it is. Thanks Sal CM190113-101859003.webpCM190113-102011004.webpCM190113-102222006.webp

Well I am going to use a bit of fantasy realms here. But in the pic he is carrying an axe. Only a few saints have the axe as their symbol and they are mostly English or have never been to Germany.

However, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trudpert looks really interesting.

I think this is the best ID if we cant read a few letters. Boniface is usually with with bishop crozier and a book.

St. Matthias is often w/ an axe (and with a beard!) so this is a possibility.

The backside SEEMS to be a clerical coat of arms (I do see a crozier), so at the moment I am hinting at the Abbey St. Trudpert in the Schwarzwald.

Maybe the Threadopener can give us the reading of a few letters or say if the place is somewhat connected to the Schwarzwald.

BTW: I do not know any protestant sect of church in Germany that has Saint medallions. But I know protestant pastor daughters that send their kids to catholic school :-).
