I hunted something a lot different today . I saw this location yesterday and thought my Son and I would hunt it this morning . I'm sure this place has been hunted in the past few weeks so I'll say where it is . Old Willow Glen area where the train tracks were . I lived years ago on Hervey Lane and Alma and saw the train go by all the time . The tracks have been gone for about eight years now and work has started on the area for a bike / foot trail . They have already put in the fill dirt but it has old broken glass and pottery right on top . The fill dirt seems to be from an old location . Carson found an old button and some pottery pieces and I found one Wheat cent 1941S and a 1945D Mercury dime . Both coins were not that deep .Also found on the surface a very small porcelain doll arm . I believe they may start paying it this week .
It was a fun hunt !

Very nice silver and wheat finds guys! :hello2:
Isn't it amazing that nobody noticed the coins in the initial lift of soil as it was being put down! :icon_scratch:
Though I'm a bit disappointed that you don't have any rings to show me today Glen! :laughing7:

I would ask the truck drivers where the fill is coming from- tell them you are looking for some for your yard or something. It could be sitting in a pile taken from another site/job. If so, I would try to gain permission and start sifting!
Great stuff!

I think it came from a site that the water company owns now . Three years ago they tor down some old houses that dated to the 1870's . This location is only about a half mile away and was dug out deep . Just my guess . That property is all gated up with sign everywhere >:(

Better luck next weekend Glen!

bet theres more

Looks like you had a good time in there! :icon_thumleft: One thing about hunting in those dirt scrapes are all the targets that get missed. Experience has shown me that you can cover the same ground three or more times and still miss a good hit in a construction site scrape. Keep us posted on any more goodies that come out of there! :icon_thumleft:

Interesting situation with that fill. I guess you better hurry and check it all before it's paved over.
