Old School Yard Finds

Hello All. Got permission to hunt a school yard that dates from c.1910 and found lots-o-clad and few keepers. This site is little tough to dig because it is still active so there is lots of trash and the ground is generally hard packed due to vehicle traffic.

I did get a bit silver before I dug the wheaties...usually the wheaties come first but I am not complaining. The Buff is a no date but its is still a Buff, wheaties are 1940's and 1950's.

I think the crucifix and Virgin Mary medal are parts to a rosary and the Modern Constant Health Crusaders pin is a school fitness club item possibly from the 1920's.

Also found brass spigot, old AC spark plug, Mason Jar cap, keys, dog tag, buttons, junk ring, and whatzit brass pc.

Pretty good site that I will dig again.

Thanks to all for the nice replies.

I must be honest here these finds were actually from three hunts, one last Saturday and two more after work this week. I would estimate that I dug 250+ holes to find these items...in my humble opinion you must have patience, polite persistence, and perseverence to really get the best out this hobby.

My Mom actually had a bird necklace or pin can't remember exactly but it looked just like that very cool. I believe it is the firebird.(Pheonix)

Can tell you had a great workout, hence the fitness pin reward! Congrats on the finds! I recall having a key chain fob exactly like the bird pin back in the 80s think it was one of those gift prizes for sponsoring some charity that came through the mail.
