Old Shoe buckle I think trying to find a year on it.

I found this metal detecting pretty sure it’s a shoe buckle. Trying to find out the age of it.

Looks like a shoe buckle to me, sometimes they have patent date on back of crossbar. Looks to be early to mid 1700's to me, just speculation. By the way nice!

Definitely a shoe buckle-nice find! More like mid to late 1700s; prior to that they were smaller.
