Old soldier's picture
I have this old soldier's framed picture of WW2.
The name of the german soldier was Paul Dürr
Born 17.10.21 at Holzkirchen - KIA. 4.3.42
His family has this Pic in his memory at an
Photo Studio (C.Maurer .City of Ulm -Rothstr. 27)
sth. made.
At the Pic. he his wearing a winter uniform with a
RAD. (Reichsarbeitdienst / Reichs Working Service)
patch ,which I marked with a harrow.
Beautifully disigned in old style are the writings.
This kind of hand-made portraits are very selten !
It reads :
" In Eternal Memory to for the Freedom fallen :
Paul Dürr "
" In the Blossom of your years...
at the Top of your Strength...
an Enemy's Bullet has taken you
away from us "....
" Now you are crowned,
after bloody Battle,
with the Crown of Life
and Eternity".....
The Picture is pretty large : 1,16 x 1,20 feet.
