Can anyone identify these markings on the back of this spoon. I found this metal detecting. Is it silverplated? Or silver? I have googled with no results.....

Hello diggerette,

Welcome to Tnet, and thanks for bringing the spoon. I believe it's from one of the Roosevelt hotels. I don't know your location. I imagine The Roosevelt in NYC is it's likely source. Most likely plated, though I can't quite make out that maker's mark...

Hi did you try the magnet test? If it has a little pull it is plated. I think it comes from International silver company.

Wow, I found the Roosevelt Flatware design by International Silver Co. and the flatware design was made or discontinued in 1924. It also was flatware designed with a empty space for monograms. What is neat is that the design is called Roosevelt design and the monogram was also The Roosevelt.... Cool
