Went out to a park this morning for a few hours and got some goodies. 1919 wheat penny, a not so old batmobile, a transformer and a very cool old spoon I dug out of the creek embankment. The spoon has a green patina no markings that I can see. Met a lot of nice people and another detectorist:) was a good day, except for those dreaded knats. :) IMG_5366.webp

cool, some of those old spoons are so soft that it is hard to believe they used them very much. Still, many are ornate and just plain ole cool finds. You have to wonder how many people used them and when. Then I wonder if it was a kid that lost them, my kids left them scattered everywhere in the woods around the house so I just bought cheap ones. Of course my boy did the same thing with my tools, wanted to wring his neck when I found one.

I know what you mean:) my kids loved taking spoons out in the yard and never bring them back. Was constantly buying new ones.

YEP THE OLE SPOON FIND

Great finds, and Avon makes a body spray called "Skin So Soft." It is a great insect repellent without DDT! HH, Sub 8-)

Great 1919 wheat, the year 3 three of my grandparents werr born.

Very nice spoon find, congratulations! :occasion14:

Nice score on the old wheatie. Almost hit the century mark there. I love old utensils. Quite amazing how many of them ended up in the dirt. Glad you met some congenial folks and another treasure hunter along the way. Sounds like a great day for you mate!:icon_thumright:

Congrats on your finds,, sometimes kids would use spoons as digging utensils and then just leave them.
Now if they were part of mom's silver set,, there would really be a problem.
