Little hard to say so corroded... looks 1850's but i cant make out an eye shape.
This is key to dating in some cases.
I suggest you do some cleaning of that area.... or overall.

From what I DO SEE so far.... may not be as old as first thought... thinking this is close... antique possibly yes... but perhaps not 1800's... will have to see better pics of it cleaned.
Could be even vintage.... like this one... at least this one i found a photo of is labeled as such and for sale on Itsy.
This is very similar to yours IMO.

But... it may also fit 1800's style like this one...

Working on soaking and cleaning. I did find civil war box plate and officers button at same site so hoping it’s that time frame.

Then perhaps my first / original thought is close / on target.

Well done on the cleaning and new pictures.
I feel this is definitely of the CW period / era.

Here is the closest example on a cursory search .. perhaps someone or yourself will be able to reign an example in.
Anyway... here is where i was thinking... although yours is MUCH thicker and fattens at base.

Example of A PAIR... not all... iron stirrups of that era... shape and eye... not base.

hot soapy water might be good for washing your hands but a electrolysis bath is what it really needs. If that is not possible, try ACV soak for a week...or some other rust removal soaking. Gotta get down to the base, which there is plenty there to work with. Same with your hatchet.

Found this old stirrup at an old home site on 1858 map in Cecil County Md!
Can anyone give date range and or description detail.
ThanksView attachment 2070545
I’m no expert, but at glance it does appear to be wrought. I’m judging by the grains I see at the bottom. If I’m correct that

im far from an expert but at glance it appears to be wrought. I’m judging that be the grains/layers that I see at the bottom. If I’m correct it could date well into 1800s.
