Old Stomping Ground - Day 2...

After yesterday, I had some lost ground to make up, so I put in an 8 hour day on the field I did on Thursday. Dad joined me for 6 hours. In the past we have only had a few roman coins & the odd hammered but today we had a much better result;

A cool Medieval whatzit with star/sun type pattern
Silver & Gold Plated Shield
1/4 cut hammered shortcross
(99% sure) Very Rare Welsh cut halfpenny Hammered of King John 1299-1216;

We just checked our records, we only did this field for 2 years in 2007/08. I have had 4 hammered in the last 2 outings which is 1 more than we got in the whole of 07/08. We also nearly got as many Roman Coins today as the whole of 07/08

That was our last chance as the Wheat is being to poke throw & that's when they want us off

The Roman Pot Shards were sitting on the surface of the ploughed field, just like the fossil & sometimes the Neolithic Flints (eyes only)

Don't really understand the question, bobbies to me means Policeman, & I don't get the relevance with the finds pictured

I think worldtalker means the shield , and being similar to US Police badge
