After yesterday, I had some lost ground to make up, so I put in an 8 hour day on the field I did on Thursday. Dad joined me for 6 hours. In the past we have only had a few roman coins & the odd hammered but today we had a much better result;

(99% sure) Very Rare Welsh cut halfpenny Hammered of King John 1299-1216;

Don't really understand the question, bobbies to me means Policeman, & I don't get the relevance with the finds pictured

I think worldtalker means the shield , and being similar to US Police badge

This is a small badge/shield applied to another piece of silver, like a fob watch case or any other number of items. Probably late Victorian.
