I have been a life long resident of North Central Arkansas & have always been intrigued by a tale my grandpa told me. It involved a group of Confederate soldiers that got lost on their way & the small community of Barren Fork gave them a place to stay for sometime. They were transporting a payroll wagon full of gold & supposedly hid the wagon & contents somewhere in a cave. If anybody has heard this or has any information, I would appreciate it.
