Does anybody know anything about this old tire iron. Its weird in that it has holes through it, and is broken off at one of them. It must have been made to be lightweight or something. I found it in what used to be an army camp dating from 1910 to 1933. The whole area is houses and stuff now, and it was found with other period items, including stuff from the military. Is this tire iron that old?

It's a raker crank from a coal stove.

Yep. It attached to the grate to shake out ashes. The holes are to dissipate heat - not for lightness.

Here's another version.

Cool, I guess it probably does date back to 1933 or before, then. That said, it must have been to a stove in one of the old army camp buildings they tore down.
