Found this rusty tool yesterday along with a small lead round ball, brass thimble and a number of square nails.

Thought the tool was for cutting wire but am wondering if it might be a farriers tool. One handle comes to a point and the other kind of looks like a flat head screwdriver. I know zip about horses so I might be barking up the wrong tree. :icon_scratch:

Carrol is right The handle is to put a hole in the side of the Dynamite then you insert the cap, light fuse, and run like a scalded dog. The crimp keeps the fuse in the cap.I use to use that stuff a long time ago.And i still have all my fingers

Yep... rusty old tool.
That's exactly what it is :)

A real man would bite the crimp to hold the fuse. All joking aside, I knew a guy that used to do that. He'd have the entire cap in his mouth and bite a crimp into the cap. That's
back in the day when there were real men logging real trees.
