Old Truck & Bottles

I was looking for an old field today that was supposed to be marked with old barb wire. Never found the wire. Walked about 2 miles up hill from a creek and found this old truck cab and a bunch of old bottle dumps. I don't think the dumps were too old and there was a slight trace of an old road. In the dumps there were old glass Nehi soda bottles and some old steel Pabst beer cans. I also found these old glass Clorox jugs (the 2 on the right) I am 43 and never remember seeing Clorox in a glass jug. Anybody have any idea when they stopped making them in glass?

P.S. also found a boat load of Morel Mushrooms that go for around $52/Lb. or $20/Lb. dried but did not pick them.

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

from the glass bottles, the NEHI bottles and the steel PBR's, I would date it somewhere between 1928 - 1955

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

I wish I could get closer but clorox bottles have no value, nehi was made from 1924-1955 when it became RC cola, and they made PBR in steel forever, no longer though, was the can a beaver tail or a an actual diamond slice ?

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

Ive found some 1940s.

neat truck

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

I would like to see a pic of the mushrooms!

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

I have seen my mother do the wash with Clorox coming out of those brown bottles. That would have been in the 1950's and possibly very early 1960's.

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

I would go back and get the mushrooms! Go get them bottles too.

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

I'd go back and get that truck cab, nice start for a hot rod.

THE TRUCK CAB IS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WITH NO ROADS OF ANY KIND, WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO RETREIVE.

I'd try using a 4x4 atv with a small trailer to get it, nothing is impossible if you realy wanted it.

Re: Old Truck & Bottles

Nice finds. Wonder how long that old truck has been sitting there ???
