Here's an old trunk in which I recently came into possession trunk01.webptrunk02.webptrunk03.webp. I need help identifying the age and anything else about it if there's anyone out there with knowledge about things like this. It has dovetail joint construction.

Are there any manufacturing stamps or name? Certainly old for sure!

No manufacturing marks. It looks like it was painted years ago and may have covered it up.
I was curious if a date on this trunk could be determined based on this style.

these carpenter chests were handmade by many. I have one from my grandfather that was very very similar to this that was early 1900s and I've seen a similar style in a museum that was dated early 1800's. so getting an exact date will be nearly impossible unless there is a makers mark or you know the original owner. that being said though it looks like hand forged hinges from here. so probably before the 1900s for sure, if they are hand forged.

Beauty of a trunk, the width of the planks and the forged hinges tells the age and makes it a valuable piece imho.

Looks like an old linen or blanket chest as previously mentioned, it looks a bit too clean to have been a tool chest.
