Returned to where I found a large cent and a v nickel on Friday. Found a couple early wheats, old brass rivets, spoons, and lots of brass amidst all the iron carpeting. These are what I want help with: C20BB1DA-BF3D-426F-A700-263A13971FDF.webpF276BD7F-01CE-4CFD-B539-A835004F8022.webp574BC678-2A08-491E-A96C-8A9B06068577.webpB23E4D20-D472-48D1-8BFD-DAF072EE17FE.webp373F4811-462A-40BE-A7E7-1ACA72A2B068.webpD4315D59-3223-459A-8A48-FE5EB9430C8C.webp231C8D31-F80F-45F6-B694-54ADEF3E203D.webp
Item 1 is a pewter like metal, thought it was a massive button I’m not sure though. Item 2 could be a fishing weight or a bead? Hole is a bit large for fishing line isn’t it? And item 3 is a beautiful pewter spoon, I’m hoping someone can date it’s design. It is not a rat tail design.

Your lead item is probably a weight for a fishing net.

No. 2 was probably on the bottom of a seine or on the bottom of a casting net. I bet on the seine though...d2

First picture looks like a broken button. Second is a lead net weight.

What do you think a button that heavy and large would be on? I agree it seems like a large button.

In pic #2 is that funky 'slot' made that way or is it from deterioration of the metal?

If made that way it could be part of a clutch mechanism from an old-timey spring-roller window shade.

I can't find any pics of the older metal parts, tho...
