✅ SOLVED Old Valve??

Found this where a very old church once stood, also found a very nice 1898 barber dime and a Winchester 32 cal. shell casing. It's about an inch and a half tall and about an inch and a quarter long...Looks victorian to me... Brass??

I agree. I once helped upgrade (electrically wire) a very old apartment building which originally had gas lamps. They valves looked exactly like the one pictured.
