So glad I went yesterday, cause it's pouring rain today. Back to the trail that keeps giving... I was about 2hrs on and hit a sackful of musket round balls. 3 were larger, 3 were smaller. 7 all total. I dug about an inch and out popped one, scanned and another, after another, till the tone went away. Pour guy must have lost his bag, or spilled them. Don't know how many they would carry. One is odd shaped, never saw one like it. I was totally stoked and smiled the hike back. Shell casing marked PETERS 44-40. Could be as old as 1887.

As I have found 3 of the pieces of iron, 2 in the past. Any ideas what they were? They must have broken off some kind of Wagon, or horse rigging?

Congrats on the finds! The pieces of Iron have a somewhat appearance that they could be pieces from Horse Hanes.

Nice relics. Congrats

Very cool finds! :icon_thumleft:

Your 3 pieces of iron are broken hooks.

I think your right on the hooks. Must have been on the wagons or on the horse/mule riggings. I'm pretty sure they are related to either one. Thanks
