I know this is technically cheating, as this is a forum for Today's Finds, but I have been extremely busy as of late. These are my finds for the last week or so, from four different properties. I have to give thanks to Vino for giving me access to one of these sites. My finds begin with my first Matron Head Large Cent, an 1822, which is in horrible shape. I have found a total of six large cents this summer, the first five were Draped Busts. I know I shouldn't complain, but that is a weird streak, you must admit. My second find was a token that looked extremely familiar, a David Mitchell's Men's & Boys clothing merchandise token, the exact same token found by Vino about two weeks ago (His token was found about ten miles away, at a completely different property. What are the odds?) My third find? Back on the Draped Bust streak, this time 1803. Then comes my first half dime, and also my first Seated, all in one... an 1853 with arrows (badly dented, not by me, but beautiful either way). Next was probably my finest find of all, my oldest silver to date, an 1823/2 Capped Bust Dime, easily a VG 30 if not for the black tarnish. The features are amazing.

I had a few day lull, until these two beauties came out of the same property, 1911 and 1913 Barber dimes. The 1913 is spotless, it has to be an AU50, you can still see mint luster.

Next was a 1824 Matron Head Large Cent, back off the Draped Bust streak.

I finished the weekend with my second ever 2 Cent Piece, an 1866.

Other notables include an elongated penny from the 1970 American Numismatic Convention, a toasted pocket watch, and a small button.

The attached thumbnail picture is the 1913 coming out of the ground.

Sweet finds.

That is a nice elongated penny. I had never seen one before I started detecting and it took finding a few before I realized what they are. Now when I find one that's all it takes to call it a good hunt.

Man awesome finds, the bust dime is xtra sharp $$$$ :occasion14:

In trying to find another example online, which I couldn't, I learned that there is a whole subset of coin collectors who collect these things

Sweet collection of finds. I enjoy seeing old silver coins when they come out of the ground with mint luster. Your 1913 Barber dime is one of the finest examples of mint luster I've ever seen posted. What a beauty!

Congrats on pulling all those keepers. :occasion14: I would love to pull some of those coins. Especially the 1823/2 Capped Bust Dime and that 2 cent coin.

Nice variety of old coins. The barbers are sharp looking. Congrats on the capped bust, this is the 3rd one i have seen posted today. I could not find one if my live depended on it.

Wow PA Sleuth, that's an amazing group of finds. I really like the patina on the 1824 LC... and the 1823 dime :notworthy: Incredible condition!

Sweet looking silver there...still looking for an early american silver also...

Great looking silvers, one can't expect any better coming out of the dirt. The 2 cent is really nice as well. Thanks for posting up these beauties.

Don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic about the Capped Bust dime, just wish the tarnish wasn't there. I know you are not supposed to clean coins, especially one of this condition, but it is tempting.
