Got some pennies today with the quarters. One bag was really shiny, so figured go through it. Sadly, my 2009 total surpassed my wheats again thanks to pulling 80 from this bag. Through 573,000 cents now, I have found 3,021 wheats, but am up to 3,038 09's. Surprised my ratios held out that long... Only 6 wheats in the entire bag, but found this beauty in it:

Matches my personal oldest wheat.

Also pulled my 6th Centisimo de Balboa:

This is the most "popular" foreign coin I've found, and the cool thing I've found each in different bags, versus finding 5 each from Norway and Japan in different bags.

Heres hoping my other bags yield better ratios. Happy hunting everyone!

Just curious where are you getting your bags that you find so many wheats.

Rosco: cents are always fun to search, just like the movie with Tom Hanks, life is just like a box of chocolates, "never know what you'll get". One of these times a key or semi-key will be in the bag, just like early this year an elderly man I know gave me a bunch of old US & foreign coins, among them was a VF 1914-D key Lincoln. The only key of the four key coins I now have since coin collecting back in the 60's., it's the thrill of the HUNT that drives us in this hobby. HH, DozerD

I get my bags through the local credit union. I lucked out though, found 2 dumps since I started which account for just under 1000 in 3 bags...
