On a silver roll! Plus bookmark and mystery object

I am on what for me is a silver roll. Found two more in quick succession yesterday. Also found a TV Guide bookmark; I assume you use it once and then never pick the book back up because you're just watching TV all the time then. Also found this brass thingy which I can't figure out. Kind of a half sphere with no markings but three evenly spaced holes on the bottom. Any ideas?
