Got out today with Frank to hit some new sites. Temps were in the mid 20's with the top 1" frozen solid. Frank was out of the gate with 2 hits, one of them being frozen solid in a clump of dirt.

After a while we moved onto another site that looked promising but was a bust so we headed back to the site where we began our day. I wandered somewhat far from the hole & was rewarded with my 1st LC of the year. It looks to be a Coronet but no date was visible. Also nabbed a thimble from this site as well.

HH!
Roger

Nice finds thanks for sharing.

Good way to start the year !

Great job, looks like my last and only hunt of 2015...ground was frozen and I also pulled out an american LC (1820)

congrats, just being able to get them out of the ground is a big deal right now and then for them to be great finds

You Yankees always complain about the tough hunting in the winter. Yet here it is the second week in January and ya'll are still pulling little gems out of the hole. Glad to see you were still able to find some ground giving enough to pull a few good finds. Great job!

I ain't no Yank, I'm a transplanted Southerner not by my choice, LOL! Mom was from the Alabama & Dad was from CT. Been behind enemy lines since I was 6mo old, LOL!

I love to get out when it's nice and cold. No heat, humidity, bugs....

Sweet digs.. What kind of gloves do you use?

Very nice old copper!

Cold finds. I mean cool lol. Nice large cent and thimble. HH
