I've been out of detecting for a lil while but finally got out yesterday. Well the particular beach I went to wasn't as washed out as I had hoped (from Irene), but the excavated area that they were preparing for some new pipe looked interesting. About 10 minutes into it I pulled a large coin, but I couldn't make out what it was. From reading the post here on Treasurenet I first thought "large cent"...mainly because it was corroded similar to the pennies I find on the beach. Then I thought...oh...its probably just a kids token or something like that. Cleaned it up today using some hydrogen peroxide and I was so excited to see that little "1938" looking up at me! Then I managed to make out the "ONE PENNY". After some quick research found out that its a 1938 Penny from Great Britain...found on the beach in Florida! I'll get some pictures uploaded soon. Happy Hunting!
