Ok so i was digging irrigation trench around my pool today and i kept hitting this like pyrite or old decayed granite stuff. I'm a gold prospector so i know s little bit, but not much. The blood red quartz looking streak running through it is was caught my eye. I live in Oconee county sc at the foot of the ap mountains if that helps. Thanks anyone in advance for the reply!

Red or tangerine quartz is exactly what it is.If youre finding pegmatite keep looking you might be near a gas pocket.

Thanks red james cash your examination is very helpful. I'm just trying to dig a trench around my pool but it's this rock i have to chisel through lol. Should i be worried about a gas pocket?

No,nothing at all to worry about, gas pockets were formed when the rock was first formed.Gas pockets are what crystals are formed in.If your chisel suddenly disappears when chiseling through rock youve found yourself a gas pocket.Careful if you find one though, reaching in the hole some crystals are pretty sharp and you can slice your hand up.
