They discontinued the cdn penny back in March or May of 2012, and I guess some people trashed them? Idk.
However, all the banks still take rolls of pennies to this day.

Well it's definitely my record. Earlier this year at a tippy bus stop bench I found 1-Loonie,2-25 Cents, 2 Pennies. It was worth more but the 46 number may never be touched. And it was the most hectic readings, you can imagine. lol

While they discontinued (stop production) the cdn pennies in 2012 and stop distributing them in 2013, they still remain legal tender to this day and will remain so for quite some time!!
