Today was another one of those days with a lot of digging and little results . On my second signal I dug this cracker jack token . It says "James Madison forth president of the United States" . The other side says "Join the cracker jack mystery club save this coin" . Any information would be great. :) I think I have seen one of these on here before.

Cool little bit o history on the mystery club! Thanks Kenb.

Birdman, I've found two and someone indicated that they are from the '30's. Cool find. Mine were William Henry Harrison and James Buchanan.

Nice find birdman. I found one last year. Posted it on the tokens and tags forum. From what I understand, cracker Jack put these out sometime in the 1930's. Here's a pic of the one i found.

the front side got you heart going i bet? thats a cool find keep on searching you know how it is in treasure hunting ,the next find could be the best yet?? how about that lake shelby in gulfshores or ft.morgan any luck around there??

Very cool stuff,I knew I had seen them on here before . :) Thanks all for the information . I was thinking from the fifties but 30s are even better .

Relicdude ,Fort Morgan RD is were I grew up Right by the Shell Banks Baptist church. Tons and Tons of history there . The Spanish were all over that place and there is an old Spanish cemetery at the 12 mile marker .It is swamp now but I have heard the old timers tell of hunting in there back in the 30s and 40s . We used to find CW bullets as surface finds and my neighbor dug a cannonball out of his garden. Indian artifacts ,CW war of 1812 pirate history the works . I took all that for granite as a child (We moved from there when I was 13 to Loxley) and wish I would have used my fathers old garret ground hog more often .I went out with it and dug a musket ball and a piece of watch when I was about 11 but playing in the water was more fun back then.I went back when I was grown and there are private property signs as far as the eye can see. Condos, beach houses every where. They call that progress ,I call it a place being ruined!!

Neat find, Bird! Glad to see you are finding more new places up there to hunt....

Congrats! Nana :)

Nice token!

Are you going to clean it?

Congratulations!

Ridley, It's aluminum so I am kinda scared to . Any Ideas what might work?

Welcome to the Club, I found one too.

Keep @ it and HH!!

Nice find Bman, I am a big fan of Cracker Jack! Always loved the toy surprise, now I still like the snack and toss the crappy toy junk they put in the boxes these days. Ray, Bernd and I had a great hunt last weekend, we talked a bit about you, in a very good way. I hope you can get another tour back to Europe, seems you were just getting acquainted with the fields and surroundings and finding some hot spots before you left. I have to say, my area sucks a big root! I detected an old mill area at the base of a so called Celtic fortress along a small river. It is a flood zone, only found screw caps and foil. HH, Mike
