One lonely token and a riderless horse

Today I decided to investigate a potential site next to the site I detected last weekend. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered when there were few signals to be found, that I site I was in search of was located 100' away on private property. They had a cheap security set-up too, closed gates on the drive and a Beware of Dog sign posted in the front window. So I headed back again to the site next door and almost immediately found another 1812 'Tiffin' Lower Canada Halfpenny. After about 2hours of digging iron trash and the occasional non-ferrous target like the winter horseshoe, I found the lead riderless horse. I love finding children's toys, there's something so very personal about finding these little treasures from the past.

Here's a picture of our fierce little guard dog... be careful or she'll lick you to death.

Nice finds Dave little horse and the Tiffin token, many variety of this one. I think i never found the real one mostly copy .

I don't think I've ever found one of the original coins either, all of the examples I've found had been thin and weak on detail.

Now that would be cool if I'd actually found the rider to this horse in the same field!
Fortunately, I found this rider years ago in a park in Toronto... I just thought it would make for a cute pic.
