Re: one more ebay item question... why is this harley davidson emblem high dolla

Just look at the completed listings.... many have value, so not a surprise. That could be a sleeper for sure.

I believe it's an old emblem discontinued and HD collectors want it.

Because its a real Harley emblem.

When you re-build your bike, you want REAL parts, not re-makes.

Just like Corvettes and the original Indian.

Just like serious collectors of old guns! I know a guy that will even use dug parts on a gun to be authentic.

I have an "Indian" Motor-cycle fob that went on the handle-bars, and swung by a leather strap and buckle. Never knew what it was til I put it in my best finds section, that's gotta be worth some bucks......NGE

IronPatch,

So, you know my hubby, huh?

Seriously, when he rebuilds a gun, he will NEVER use a redone part - it's an original part or he doesn't use it.

Old motorcycle & automotive stuff is VERY collectible and some of it can be really pricy. I always check the rusty wrenches at the local flea markets and yard sales for names stamped or cast into them. I sold a set of 3 "Vincent" marked wrenches I paid a buck apiece for on Ebay last year for over $200.... I have Indian, Triumph, Ford, Nash, & Maxwell wrenches in my collection. Funny thing is most of them are really cheaply made stamped steel wrenches but they are still very collectible. They were supplied with new cars & motorcycles back in the day as part of an emergency tool kit. Here's a pic of a Triumph tool kit. Value is probably in the neighborhood of $300 + or -
