Detecting on Nov 15!? Unbelievable, and I'm not complaining!
A friend of mine in his 70's who lives on the US side of our town got me permission to hunt a beautiful old house, the nicest old house in town. He knows the owner who lives far away. She was here for a few weeks to do some maintenance on the old place and said I could detect. It's a shame it's been sitting empty for 30 years, but nice to see it maintained. Built around 1900 by the local banker whose name was W. M_ _ _ _ _ _.
I know it was detected to death back in the 1980's. Signals were sparse and the junk is almost too much haha, but I managed a couple of wheats, a lead toy horse head, and what I think is a 1911 St. Louis dog tag. And then I found this plated cufflink with the initials W. M.
Although I didn't find much, I was really happy to find something that is directly tied to the man who built the house and was a big part of the town. The woman who owns the house is no relation to the man who built it. I think I'm going to try to find the family and see if they are interested. .
