Here is a Deepwater Creek aka Sanish point I just recently bought from a friend of mine. Might be the finest for the type.....

It's about 2 1/2" long I think 20190405_095813.webp20190405_095831.webp20190405_114922.webp20190405_114947.webp

Look at that symmetry! Nice....

A lot of effort put into that one.

Stellar Artifact! Great acquisition!

Here is another one I am going to try to buy from him.....I think it's about 1 1/2"20190404_213831.webp20190404_213848.webp

Did your friend find them? Were they a cache I wonder?
They look like they could have been made by the same fellow and belong together.

Heavens to Betsy, those are nice!

Absolutely beautiful point. Congrats on your purchase.

Yep, he found both of them and quite a few other Deepwater Creek points. I kind of doubt they were part of a cache judging by the patina but it wouldn't surprise me if the same individual made both. Most of that type of point is made like that though......very small notches and extremely nice flaking. They are a very rare type to find as they only are found in parts of Mountrail and McLean county, ND.

Thanks Hawks! Hopefully I can get a few more from him....they are easily one of my favorite point types.

I was able to buy this one as well. 1 7/8" long20190411_162637.webp20190411_162710.webp20190411_162725.webp

Very nice points. The flaking is exquisite, they look very thin
