I found this one piece10mm cuff button today. It reminds of a War of 1812 eagle. I didn't see it it in Alberts book. Any ideas? This is a Jacksonian button in a time when the country was united. 1825-1840
This is a Jacksonian Button. Jacksonians are so named after President Andrew Jackson's era - 1820-1830.
This was the age of great national unity and is also known as the age of "Good Feelings".
There are over 140 varieties of Jacksonian buttons that feature different designs on the facing.
They are small, one rimmed buttons and were intended to be worn on a man's vest. The Eagle is on a dozen Jacksonians.
