It looks nice but what is it?

Awfully nice condition. Did you dig it up?

John

It is a Denarius of the Augustus, struck around 2 BC,with his grandchildren Gaius and Lucius on the reverse. It is the most common of the Derarii of Augustus.I have one in my collection. That is very sweet find!BTW,both those lads on the coin, were next in line for the throne, but both died before old Augustus did.

very nice find...Matt

Very nice! Did you dig or buy?

I miss Gunner.
He was a regular here a couple of years back. He sure does know those ancient coins!

One sold last week for $52
