One small point ,2 brokes & lots of flint!
We found another new spot yesterday but the only way to get to it was a long ride on the four-wheeler. We were able to look quite a big area. The rancher who owns this land has burned off most of his pastures and along the creeks so it made for easy looking!!
We started out finding lots of flint and then I saw the tip of a point sticking up! Its just a small point but at least its whole!
Its made of gray material and has shallow notches. Not sure on the "type" of this point
as I found about three different types(Rice Shallow Notch, Alberta, Dallas) that looked similar to mine on the Oklahoma projectile points website.
I wish there was a website that told about each point type and the lithics/area it was found in. There are so many different types in my area of Okla./Kansas, its downright confusing
!
Both my girls found broken tips of arrowheads and we found some fossils, too--can anyone identify these?
And check out the red flint with the cool looking fossil embedded in it! This was found by my oldest daughter and it was sticking out of the creek bank.
Last picture is of the long fenceline we rode down to get to the creek--it seemed to stretch on forever!!
Hope you enjoy the pictures and thanks for looking~~~kind regards, sandcreek4
