Hey fossil hunters..thought I'd throw this guy in..as a little reminder, that alot of fossils can't be seen/found unless you split/break stones as well. Even the paleo's from museums wish they could 'split' a stone, with hammer/chisel and find one of these!... Sea Scorpion (Eurypterids)...both A+B side (about 14 inches length)..not even half grown compared to the 'big guys'.

Heh, heh Thanks....wish I could share old digger, but Canadian authority/law would freeze/seize them soo fast!..claiming they can't leave the country,(historical significance) they call it! :/

Yeah, been told that by (2) Head Curators from seperate museums from both East and West sides of Canada...but, don't know what they'd do if it was more common fossils that are 'less rare/sought after'? May just dig into it a bit again!

There was ck But wayyy back, (Silurian Age) 430-450 million yrs. is the paleo's estimate of them....I said to them...ohh!..so it was....The Time Before Land!

As many as you have found I wouldn't consider them that rare. I think that they are just jealous that you are finding them in YOUR quarry.

Well...let's just say Museum Head curator wanted to stay at my kitchen table all day going through just 'part of the fossils' old digger!

I wouldn't be surprised with the awesome finds that you are finding. Be careful that they don't try and take over your quarry. And if it comes down to it you may just have to sell it to them for a hefty $SUM$

Can't happen here old digger, mining and mineral rights for "everything". Myself and 2 brothers carry-on the stone quarrying now (3rd generation).

Actually, I am looking way ahead old digger..just keep adding to my collection trying to collect as much of the 'entire ecosystem' as I can.All the many different genre of plants, animals, coral, minerals...you name it! And then...a 'one of kind' fossil collection that it's only comparison could be the Burgess Shales!..I Don't know the count of mine yet, but I do know it's well over 2 ton (4000lbs.) of fossils. They'll have one hell of job trying to put a price on it when I'm done!

Ha, funny you should mention that...'feet'. Because that is what all the paleo's world say what my collection/Silurian age fossils don't/won't have...which is, animals with feet/legs (swimming appendages only), and plants with no roots (bulbs only) from sea-floor...But!!...after 15 years working on this collection..I have "One" and only one fossil that has "legs/feet"!!..This fella is a typical/now-a-days scorpion 'with legs'!...and a plant that clearly shows "roots" not bulbs as well. Got a feelin they may have to adjust their books on when and who first left the sea 'for good'.. to walk/live on land! I've written on the enclosed box he's in tucked away 'somewhere' it says... "The Walker"
