Oneida Community Stainless Flatware Lot from Thrift

Found this tonight at the thrift in a big bag for $10. Probably about 80 or so pieces all together, many new in plastic still.

Prices are all over the place on Ebay, so wondering if anyone has information about this maker. Curious of the age, quality, pricing, etc...

This is my first time dealing with flatware, so I'm completely new to it and looking for any pointers. Likely will sell the new in package flatware separate from the loose flatware, but other than this i'm not sure the best way to organize for selling.

I am far from any sort of expert on this ... but ... I think Oneida is pretty common in general, some of it was maybe institutional/commercial/restaurant and maybe some chains had their own design. Look around for the lists of various Oneida patterns and you will see what I mean. However, some Oneida might be collectable, but that might be old rare silver.

yeah, it's somewhat confusing. I see sold listings selling 4 pieces for 30+ dollars, then large lots of 60+ pieces selling for only a hundred or so.

These I have seem to be higher end ones, possibly the Brahms collection?

I mean, well damn, if i can sell two pieces for $30 like these people are I'm looking at some nice money. Even more, considering most are new in packaging.

Hopeful Will continue researching, just like some clarity along the way from those more inclined to this kind of thing

Good score. I love finding flatware because it's easy to list & almost impossible to damage in shipping. I looked at sold listings (164) versus completed (281) auctions for this pattern. That's not the best ratio I've seen but is good enough to know that it's reasonably popular. I'd probably group it into 5 piece place settings & sell those in lots of 2 or 4 settings. You will end up with serving pieces that should be sold separately if prices are high enough or grouped if needed. Left over individual pieces should be sold in like kind lots (all forks, spoons, etc). Sell everything as BIN priced at the higher end of the sold listings & wait until they sell. It might take a while but you will get the higher prices. Definitely sell the ice tea spoons as a separate lot & price them high. They are less common than the rest of the pieces.
