We knocked at the door of a place we had been wanting to hunt, but got no answer. We almost left, but decided to hunt the sidewalk easement out front. We found clad, junk, and a 1900-S barber dime. :hello2:

Then we drove to another spot we had been eyeing, and got permission to hunt a yard at a house built in 1892. All we found was clad and junk! :dontknow: But we also hunted the sidewalk easement across the street from that yard, and pulled out clad, junk, and a sweet 1905-S quarter! :headbang:

Not a single wheat or indian, no newer silver, nothing old at all except a 1959 license plate tag--and two barbers. Kind of odd--but I'll take it! 8)

Great finds for small sidewalk strips. The quarter is in great condition. Congrats.

Silver coins are not being replaced. Every time one is dug that's one less for detectorists to find. Those two coins you found are fine specimens and about all that one may dare reasonably expect today. For a silver hunter you had a fine day, a very fine day.

Nice silver coins !! :o :headbang:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D

WOW!! That quarter is a beauty!!

Congrats!

Dave

Both ladies are in an awesome shape for their age. Beautiful silvers :icon_thumright:

way to go!!! :notworthy: :icon_thumleft: i cant wait until i find an old quarter!!! good job and keep it up

Congrats on your Barber silvers! :notworthy:

I'm reluctant to hunt the easements on my street. My neighbourhood was developed between 1918 & 1932. The homes are pretty old and most of the homeowners take great care of their yards. :-\

Nice finds, :icon_thumright:

I'm pretty picky these days as to which easements I hunt and to which easements I leave alone--based almost entirely on what's on the other side of that easement.

Excellent! Some nice silver there.
Way to go,
MM
