looks like a Yadkin to me.What state was it found in? HB

No State...Canada, east coast.

Could you show a close-up of the base?

I'm no authority on points from Canada, but it looks very much like a Dalton, or maybe a redstone. Redstones are paleo, Daltons are late Paleo/early Archaic. I'd guess your point is probably somewhere from 9 to 12 thousand years old. Levannas/Yadkins and Madisons are much more recent, and shaped similarly, and found in the extreme NE states, but they don't have quite the same base and they're lanceolate/triangular instead of auriculate like yours appears to be. My money would be on a Dalton, for whatever that's worth. ;)

I don't think it's paleo. I agree with the others, it looks like there may have been a base snapped off and the point would have been a stemed or corner notched point. If we could get a picture of the base end we might be able to tell for sure. Very few points that are this tiny are paleo in nature...sure there is the San Patrice, and Daltons that have been resharpened a hundred times but in general petite points like this are much later. Just my .02

I just went back and looked at the pic...and you're right...it is small. Hard to tell by the pic for sure, but close to 1 1/2" long? Still looks like about the size of some of the Daltons I see from the NE states. Most of the ones I see from down here are a bit bigger. Looks like it has been re-sharpened at least once too...down to the shoulders...which probably wouldn't have been done to a broken/re-worked tip. If the base is ground, that would clench it IMHO.

I would be surprised if that has a ground base. Sure would like to see a shot of it's base head on.

I'll try to get a pic of thebase up...having cam troubles...
