Not a bad day today, went to a little park near work for lunch and in a little over 30 minutes found 94¢ and a $20 makeup brush :o I thought it was a paint brush so I took it home--doubt I'd be able to sell it though as I didn't see any used ones for sale on ebay :laughing7:

Then while waiting for my daughter at school after work I detected for about 15 minutes at her middle school and found a little more clad and eyeballed the tuba mouthpiece that was about halfway in the ground. Looks like silver although I'm not sure what the content would be. No markings other than Yamaha Japan but then I don't think they mark silver instruments :dontknow:

Then she had to go to the grocery store and I found 22¢ on the ground by the coinstar machine :hello2: (I started checking them after reading about finds here).

Yur right about the tuba mouthpiece.....a silver tuba would be a bit costly. ::) Probably highly shined/polished brass or steel.
Good finds, and excellant use of your free minutes inbetween....

That mouthpiece is probably stainless steel, the rest of the tuba would be brass.

Looked up what little info I could find on them and it's actually a Trombone mouthpiece. I'm almost certain it's silver from the black tarnish that was on it that cleaned up instantly with some silver polish and it just has that look. The do make a silver one and a brass one with silver plate among others but I can't tell yet which this might be.
