I got out this morning before it became too hot and went to one of my favorite spots. I believe this is where an old CW hospital once stood. I found the opium vials there, just like I had before. The vials are approximately 2 inches long. Usually when you find them, they are in groups of 20 or 30. I think this is 1/2 of a two piece buckle; but, I am not 100% sure. The other stuff are things I found over the past couple of weeks.
Thanks for looking.

Nice finds DMAN Some day I am going to go south again and try to get me a few more CW relics ! Keep us posted ! M.R.

Great stuff there!

Somebody was using a lot of morphine at that old place. The sash buckle tongue being all brass is interesting and I want to see it when we hunt this week. Is that a kepi buckle? That place is looking more and more like a CW hospital with every find. HH, Quindy.

Nice dig's There Dman.....anything on the piece of buckle?

:laughing9:Nice finds Dman. Congrats on the silver. How were you able to get out without Quindy? Hopefully you can get an ID on that buckle.

Wow! Awesome stuff!

How well does that morphine keep after 150 years? I could really use a fix.

Opium vials, eh? I would have had no idea. :icon_pirat: Looks like a good hunt to me! Gotta close up pic on the buckle so's we can see it better? Nana's gettin' old ya know. :tongue3:

:hello:

D,let me see a better picture of the "Tongue",(buckle)

that is some nice things Dman. it is always good to see your finds.those opium bottles are not from where Quindy use to hang out are they. LOL. what period you think that buckle might be from.

Here is a closeup view of the buckle.
Thanks for looking.

Doug....not striking me as a stamped brass or cast brass two piece. It does look almost like a oil lamp lid though.I need to see a back photo,if it is a buckle it is one that I have not seen and would say its later than the rest of your finds....I am %99 sure its not a Tongue piece .Those are great finds though bud!!

Nice Finds Doug, those morphine/opium vials are Sweet and would definitely lend credit to there being some sort of hospital/triage set up there. The piece in question looks like a smashed top to a lantern/oil lamp as alluded to by Kuger above. I have a few laying around here somewhere. I do agree that it could look like a 2 piece at first glance but that piece coming up through the middle looks to be where the wick would come out of the lamp. Nice Digs my friend!

You are right. It is the top of an old lantern. Thanks for the info.

Sweet variety of finds!

The closest I've come to an opium vial is one crack vial, and one crack pipe. :laughing7:

love those old relics !
I have one of those tokens like in your
last pic with William G. Harding on it.

I've also found one FDR, and two Trumans of that series. IIRC they were issued in the 70s (?) intended for kids (?? my memory sucks) It's a neat series.

I just saw the closeup of the oil lamp. From the distant photo, it sure looked like the center of a buckle. Looks like you had fun

Good finds Dman.
