Hello!

My good buddy Ron dug this tag thingy in Corvallis Oregon. It's the shape of a football . . . . the front reads O. S. C. . . . the the back reads WHEN FOUND RETURN TO NOLAN'S CORVALLIS ORE. COLLEGE OUTFITTERS - 1844.

I assume this tag is pre-1961 because the school's named changed to UNIVERSITY in 1961. Anyone know exactly what this tag came off of? I assume 1844 is a serial number, right?

It weights 5.6 grams ~ it's about 28 mm wide and 20 mm tall

Advertising key tag, if the keys were lost it could be sent to the store and returned to the owner.

Curious indeed! I graduated from there, and first started using my detector on campus.

Never found something exactly like that.

But I did find a football-shaped solid piece, with a small ring on one end. Looked like it was supposed to be a football charm or something similar. Don't remember where it is now.
