Hi everyone ...I have been away on vacation and have not had a chance to detect much...Finally this weekend I headed to a new spot.. It was an old colonial road with a few cellars along it.. It was well worked out as the lack of signals indicated... Fog and I each found a copper there though...Mine was the toasty George...I found an old button there too.... Headed out to one of my favorite spots last night and landed this sweet open worked shoe buckle...Its a shame the Chape was iron...But its a beauty and I will take it...I have quite a few complete shoe buckles ...but not this type... they break very easily...I found plenty of pieces, but never one this complete.. Thanks for looking.... Brian W

wow great buckle!

Congrats!!!

Great buckle - thanks for posting it, for I found a piece of colonial metal which looks very similar but I didn't know what it came from. Now at least I have an idea.

Nice finds Brian. Thanks for sharing...

That buckle is a beauty Bri, I wonder how many times you walked past that over the past few years.

Yes sir , that buckle is nice . Very nice dig !

Nice finds, I like them all.

Nice buckle! Must have been quite expensive in its day.

You're not kidding about those open work shoe buckles breaking easily! I have a enough pieces of them to construct a dozen whole ones! Congrats on snagging a nice intact frame!

I'm with Steve as I've probably dug well over 100 very small pieces from this style buckle and never came close to anything whole. Very nice find!

I'm not sure how many bits of the type of buckle I have dug over the years (lots), I've never had a whole one. LOOKS GOOD!

She's a beauty for sure. Actually, ALL of you recoveries are top notch.
Congrats,
MM

Blaze
