Ornate brass thing??

I found this at a late 1800's homesite last weekend. It was only a couple of inches down. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! HH

Looks similar to a sheet music clip that might go on a musical insteument like what I have pictured below but not convinced. Pretty neat looking find whatever it is.

Very Art Deco. 1920's ish. Maybe part of a lamp or sconce.
