Went for a quick hunt between husbandly duties the other day. I walked into the field, dug two targets then had to leave. The first target was what I thought was a leash hook. After cleaning the dirt off, I noticed that it didn't look right for a leash hook, and was very ornate. I'd seen them before, but couldn't remember what it was until someone pointed out that it was a sword hanger. It's probably 1850s or so, but could be older. I'm not really sure. If anyone knows, please chime in. Thank you

I'm no expert, but it looks legit to me. Either way, nice find. :headbang:

Real nice find

I really like it. Looks old....looks like a hanger.

Someone thinks it a horse harness hook. Any thoughts on that?

Appears to be a Leech & Rigdon hanger. An unusual find for Canada, you never know though. I found one that's slightly different.Screen Shot 2017-05-05 at 1.30.37 PM.webp

Here is a very rare example of these in use on an original belt.Screen Shot 2017-05-05 at 1.30.37 PM.webplf.webp
